Nature and the Oblique Calling
When being outdoors, that is the time when I am grounded the most. Taking time to explore nature opens a healing path of discover. Going for walks along the beach, cycling along the countryside, being surrounded by beauty in a parkland, listening to the birds and the calling of the wild; these are all parts of life that one needs. Contemplating life on the beach is what I like to do all year round. It is at the most beautiful on a winter night while admiring the sunset. I enjoy the sounds of the water lapping up on the water’s edge. I love the sound of the waves as the wind gets more ferocious and shows us it is ready for a torrential downpour.
The weather cycle is as important to us as the seasons. The seasons show us change but it also shows us the aspects of life that take us to different parts of the land. Having the county side dry up and then having the water’s edge here where I am standing with enough water to keep the lands surviving, is not fair thinking about the inequalities of life. Resources can be shared with each other if we think about each other’s land and surroundings. Why wait so long for someone to come help us, why can’t we help ourselves and lift the moral of society up. The land is as important as breathing, we are now in a cycle of poverty, destruction and of disease.
Stepping back and observing the reasons we do things is not taken lightly. Reasons come in many forms and the land and nature are here for all to share. Being a beacon to shine down on injustices is what brings people together. The land is a mesh of variable instincts and we must help bring together one’s own lifeline when needed. Start with yourself first and see how many people around you need that guidance and support in their life. Going for a walk with someone can be a calling card for help. Nature can bring a sense of calm, the farmers in the world these days do not have that luxury. They live on the farm and get by each day with that little breath of survival while the land dries up before their own eyes.
We are here to muster strength for them but also have a sense of balance for the remainder of the land. Protecting our land, nature and wildlife is a factor of time that heeds warning to the people that do not look back but also look forward to a new way of thinking. Being aware of the cycles of life can have a huge impact on where we are today. Remembering that one’s own breath is the first calling card, as it takes one’s own to surrender the pitfalls of living in our own cocoon. As the time evaporates before us, we must remember to outshine the temptations before it is too late.
