An accomplishment within itself

Children have an inept way of showing us their true colours. They can be a magnet of resilience or a detrimental configuration on themselves. Having the humour to keep them on their toes brings a sentiment we all need. Children are like sponges; they hear, see, compete and bring forth jurisdiction on what they want. Come time to clean the bathroom, they can’t hear. Come time to pick up their toys, what did we say? The meaning of the word NO also brings into consideration a lifetime of resentment from those little toes that keep working on a new solution. That solution is all about giving, all about finding a way to unleash the warrior in a stupendous way of love, hope and dreams.

This child of yours will find their own way of communicating to the world, a release and fragmented way of finding that cherished dream. Dreams are like fractions; they hold you steady until the next move hits you. They bolt you into the realism that no matter what we say, we are here to protect them. This one fine world is here, it shines brightly when it can. Under normal circumstances, we hold the bearer of good news, sometimes bad. Our little minds can only hold so much, we need to digest what we can. When we digest this knowledge, we need to share with the ones that rely on us. The ones that follow us and look up with reverence and a keen sense of accomplishment.

Sometimes my own views get in the way. We need to teach our children about respecting and finding a common goal when faced with challenges. This is called time. Time is an important factor when teaching children about the world, about the sentiments that lie there dormant, ready to unleash in its own time. Channelling my own personal beliefs is what I do. I like to remind my son about my own belief system, he does not care. He wants to find his own way, his own form of acceptance. This can be related to many things in life. This can be a steppingstone to the worldly knowledge that he is just beginning his own journey, his own faith-based belief and discovering his own revolution.

In a matter of time, this will all come out. This will all play a part in discovering his own person. A person of maturity, a person of deceit, a person of sanctions or a person that holds his head up with the utmost respect of society. I will never know the person he becomes until I nurture that. I nurture the person that holds a steady hand in my life. That life I want to be filled with courage, resilience, stamina, truth and an underlying hand in helping the world be a better place. We all want that for our children, we all want that in our lives. Only time will tell, and I am really happy in discovering that with my son.
